Achieving Change Together!

The only large (for us) restrictive grant we have ever made was to an organization on whose board I sat. The CEO approached me as he believed the organization was at a stage where they needed extra fundraising capacity and the board was not in agreement. He asked whether I could restrict my year end grants, for two years in a row, to fund the hiring of a Development Director. Which I did. Needless to say, the woman he brought in had more than paid for herself by the end of the first year. So that was a really interesting learning for me about the potential to leverage significantly more funding from a restricted grant.
